Reverend Larry T. Buchanan

Woodruff, SC- Larry Buchanan, 75, beloved husband of Patricia Ann Cannon, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015. Born December 11, 1939, Larry was a son of the late Lewis and Ester Wall Rudisail Buchanan. He was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and Nashville Bible School. Larry honorably served his country in the U.S Army, where he served as a Chaplain. Larry was the present Pastor of 18 years at Bible Truth Chapel. He was the owner of Buchanan & Associates Real Estate and Insurance Company and office manager for Liberty Life Insurance Company for 25 years. Larry lived a life of service and was an Evangelist for over 30 years. He was also the President of the Woodruff Jaycees and the Jaycees State Chaplain. In addition to his wife of 41 years, he is survived by his sons, Scott Thomas Buchanan and Todd Camden and his wife, Emily; his daughter, Diane Lynn Schwarzmann and her husband, Randy; two grandchildren, Scott Buchanan, Jr., and Chloe Camden; sisters in-law, Susan Simmons, Joanne Arter, and Donna Jenkins; his nephew, Kevin Simmons and his wife, Shawna; great nephew, Bishop Cannon Simmons; a niece, Kenna Simmons; and a great nephew, Liam Kenneth Mullen. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wonderful grandmother, Ella Mae Wall. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 28th, 1:00-2:00PM at Bible Truth Chapel. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00PM in the sanctuary, officiated by Reverend Bobby Bowers and Reverend Buster Ball. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bible Truth Chapel, 222 Floyd Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
