Patricia A. Bates Bullis

Landrum, SC- Patricia A. Bates Bullis, 68, wife of Brian Scott Bullis, died Monday, April 13, 2015. You may know her as mom, sister, Aunt Pitti Pat, wife, or friend; regardless of what you called her, Patricia Anne Bates Bullis was a remarkable, generous, and compassionate woman. Born August 30, 1946 in Spartanburg, SC, Patricia was a daughter of the late Leroy and Mary Louise Whealton Bates. She was the type of person that had a heart for others, not just her family, but for strangers as well. Often, she would have the obituary page opened, praying for those families for God to comfort the loved ones left behind. Patricia loved to play practical jokes and dote on her 10 grandkids. In addition to her husband of 47 years, Patricia is survived by her son, John E. Bullis (Terri); two daughters, Rebecca Jablonski (Daniel)and Patricia Seay (Gordon); two brothers, Dennis Bates (Jennie) and Steven Bates (Rose); one sister, Lori Benshoof; and ten grandchildren, Joshua, Jonathon, Amanda, Andrew, Gabriel, Kaitlyn, Blaine, Devin, Joseph, and Kira. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the excellent, sensitive care given by all with Spartanburg Regional Hospice. A visitation will be Friday, April 17th, 1:00-2:00PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the Chapel at 2:00PM, officiated by Reverend Scott Jablonski. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Autism Speaks, 1060 State Rd 2nd FL, Princeton, NJ 08540, or to Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 120 Heywood Ave, #300, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
