Ligon A. Rogers
Ligon Augustus Rogers, 85, died at Spartanburg Medical Center after a brief illness, Thursday, May 7, 2015.
Raised in the Beaumont community, he was an employee of Beverage Air as well as a machinist for Griffin Gear and Michelin. His greatest calling has been serving as a volunteer at Beaumont Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father Charles Manley Rogers, mother, Anna Mae Wallace Rogers. His brothers and sisters; Ella Jae Rogers McGraw, Helen Rogers Hughes, Paul M. Rogers, Eleanor Rogers Foster, and Harry P. Rogers, and his son L. “Danny” Rogers.
Left to celebrate his life are his wife of 68 years, Mary Frances Foster Rogers, his son Charles William Rogers, his daughter, Brenda Rogers Liles (Paul), his grandchildren; Steven W. Rogers (Dee), Marie Aku (Jason Brannam), Brenda Lee Marcelino (Herb Cox), Ashley N. Bogan (Lance), and Frances E. Liles(Cody George), his great grandchildren; J. Kyle Rogers, Phillip Craig, Nick Aku, Aubrey Mercelino, Lauren Mercelino, Liam Bogan, and Zoey George. Also surviving him are 12 of his nieces and nephews who have been a great source of strength and comfort to him.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM -3:00 PM on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Dunbar Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow in the Dunbar Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in the Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens.
