Robert M. "Bob" Bertling

Robert M. “Bob” Bertling Spartanburg, SC – Robert Michael Bertling, 67, husband of Linda Powell Bertling, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, May 31, 2015. Bob was born on October 30, 1947 to the late Col. Stephen Joseph and Jacqueline Ayotte Bertling. He was a loving husband, father and a faithful friend. Bob, an avid reader of history and poetry, was a man of prayer and loved the church. He faithfully served his country in the US Marine Corp, retired from the US Postal Service, and was a member of GraceWay Church. In addition to his wife of 45 years, Bob is survived by two sons, Nathan Bertling (Hallie) of Greenville, David Bertling (Joy) of Spartanburg; two daughters, Eliza Lewis (Blake) of Spartanburg, Linda Meade (Ben) of Asheville, NC; two sisters, Jackie Ann Bertling of Alexandria, VA and Stephanie Robinson of Martinsburg, WV. Bob was blessed with three grandchildren, Powell and Amelia Meade, and Charlotte Bertling. The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM to 3:45 PM on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at GraceWay Church. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 PM, officiated by Reverend Jan King.
