John Churchill Howard

Spartanburg, SC- John Churchill Howard, 78, formally of Pueblo, Colorado, died Sunday, June 7, 2015 at his home. Born March 10, 1937 in Evanston, IL, John was the son of the late William Finley and Julia Brooking Howard. He attended St. John’s Military Academy in Salina, KS and was a graduate of Centennial High School. John enlisted in the US Navy and served two tours in the Vietnam War. He worked in the banking industry for over 20 years in San Diego, CA before moving to Spartanburg, SC in 1998. John was an excellent horseman and a NASCAR enthusiast. He was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. He is survived by his sister, Julia “Jill” Howard Taylor; step sisters, Pamela Adams Grey and Linda Adams Stepanek; and three nephews, Bill, Mark, and Eric Taylor. Services will be private.
