Margaret T. Wellman

Spartanburg, SC- Margaret Teel Stokes Wellman, 82, wife of the late Harold Wellman, died Wednesday, October 7, 2015. Born August 25, 1933 in Columbus, GA, Margaret was a daughter of the late Olan and Audry Mae O’Pry Teel. She was a member of Pastor John’s Sunday School Class and First Baptist Church of Spartanburg. Margaret lived in Phenix City, AL until 2012 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a retired credit manager with AFLAC. Margaret is survived by her children, Stanley W. Stokes (Angela) of Baltimore, MD, Becky Stokes Walters of Spartanburg, SC, and Marguerite Stokes Kelly of Baton Rouge, LA; her son in-law who cared for her, Stan Walters; step children, Richard Wellman (Beverly) of Pearland, TX, Tim Wellman of Phenix City, AL, Kathy Bradley (Wayne) of Smiths, AL, and Jeff Wellman (Melisa) also of Smiths, AL; and several grand and great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Mark Andrew Stokes; and a sister, Shirley Teel Lane. At the request of Margaret, no services are planned. The family will be at the home of Becky and Stan Walters.
