Christopher Adam Cothran

d. October 13, 2015

Christopher Adam Cothran Moore - Our precious and beloved Christopher Adam went to be with Jesus on October 13, 2015. Our hearts are broken and aching at his decision to end his own life. There are no words to express the grief and sadness we feel. We know that whatever overwhelmed him is no longer. He is finally at peace with himself and with God. Christopher was a 2011 graduate of James F. Byrnes High School where he played varsity football for four years. He also attended Spartanburg Community College. He was employed as a mechanic trainee at Bradshaw Chevrolet and also worked at Averitt Trucking Company. Christopher was a loving, dedicated, honest, and gifted young man with very much potential. He played drums, guitar, and was a talented artist. He had many friends who found him loyal, funny, and adventurous. He loved hiking, fishing, and Tennessee football; but mostly he loved his family, his country, and his God. Christopher is survived by his loving parents Jennifer and Kyle Cothran, precious brothers Mackenzie Alec, Mason Kyle, and Noah Thomas. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents Ted and Sandy Mason, Uncle Mark Mason and his wife Melodie, and their daughter Lyndsie. Also paternal grandmother Phyllis Cothran. Other survivors include his paternal great-grandmother Louise Lawter; many special aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by maternal great-grandparents Jack and Ruth Humphreys, Odell and Nora Mason; paternal grandfather, Tom Cothran; paternal great-grandparents Olin and Vera Cothran, and Harold Lawter. Christopher, all our lives are forever changed and nothing will ever be the same until we see you again. We all love you so deeply and wanted the very best for you. To be without you will be our deepest pain. May the arms of God hold you for all of eternity for you are safe now. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:30 PM. Pallbearers: Logan Shropshier, Chris Williams, Bryce Layton, Bryce McKelvey, Ryan Pack, and Mark Milton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office Benevolent Fund; PO Box 771, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
