Betty Carolyn Bickley

Spartanburg, SC- Betty Carolyn Bickley, 81, wife of the late James Donald Bickley, died Saturday, December 19, 2015. Born September 6, 1934 in Spartanburg, SC, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Paul James and Ruth Cooper Emory. She was a sales clerk for K-Mart and retired from Personnel Director after 20 years of service. Carolyn volunteered for Mobile Meals for 5 years and was also a volunteer for Hospice Compassus where she received Volunteer of the Year award. She was a member of Beaver Hills Baptist Church. Carolyn was also a member of the Broad River Chapter 218, Order of the Eastern Star. Carolyn is survived by her son, Mike Mason (Pat) of Roebuck, SC, Kathy Mason of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Heather Perry (Scott), Graham Mason, Michelle Geiger, and Daniel White; one great granddaughter, Abi Orear; and a brother, Joe Emory (Claire) of Mayo, SC. In addition to her husband, Carolyn was predeceased by a brother, Cecil Bernard Emory. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 23rd, 11AM at Dunbar Funeral Home.
