Pauline, SC- Annie Lee Brock Akins, 81, wife of the late James Akins, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, December 23, 2015.
Born April 3, 1934 in Laurens, SC, Annie was a daughter of the late Wallace Henry and Whitney Edna Lowe Brock. She was a loving wife, mother, and nana and will be truly missed. Annie was a member of Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church.
Annie is survived by her children, Sharon Anne Rountree (Steve) of Roebuck, SC, David Arnold Akins (Joanne) of Pauline, SC, and Carol Lynne Sizemore (Rick) of Roebuck, SC; eight grandchildren, Heather Culbreth (Mike), Angie Tennyson (Chris), Carmyn Price (Bo), Nicholas Rountree (Hannah), Joshua Akins, Alisha Moore (Justin), Tyler Sizemore, and Kelsey Lynn (Justin); eight great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Jo Mabry of Pauline, SC; and her faithful companion, Bozie.
In addition to her husband of nearly 63 years, Annie was predeceased by a son, Michael James Akins; and two brothers, Bobby Dean and Leon Wallace Brock.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 26th, 11AM at Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church, officiated by Reverend Dr. Bob E. Pettit, who was not only her pastor, but also a dear friend.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church family life center.
Burial will be held in the church cemetery.
The family will be at their respective homes.
