Cara Nell Smith

Pauline, SC- Cara Nell Smith, 83, wife of the late Engelsby Thomas Smith, Jr., died Thursday, December 24, 2015 at her home. Born June 27, 1932 in Spartanburg, SC, Cara was a daughter of the late Arthur Franklin Smith, Sr. and Nellie Kate Batson Smith. She was a devoted Christian and a loving mother and grandmother. Cara is survived by her daughter, LeaAnn Smith Sprinkle and husband, Jason Todd Sprinkle; granddaughter, Hannah Kate Sprinkle; a brother, Bobby Joe Smith; and a sister, Ruby Smith Bearden. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Frances Rena Smith Adams; and a brother, Reverend Arthur Franklin Smith, Jr. The family will receive friends Monday, December 28th, 10-11AM at Walnut Grove United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow in the sanctuary at 11AM, officiated by Reverend Chris Snelgrove. Interment will be held in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Walnut Grove United Methodist Church Mission Fund, 1335 Walnut Grove Road, Roebuck, SC 29376.
