Christine Lawrence Finney
Spartanburg – Christine Lawrence Finney, 47, wife of Claude Swanson “Trey” Finney III, died Tuesday, January 5, 2016.
Born April 1, 1968, in Painesville, OH, and raised in Uniontown, PA, she was a daughter of Ronald and Margaret Elnikar Lawrence.
Christine graduated from Ringling School of Art and Design, and worked at Disney Feature Animation for 15 years where she worked on numerous short and featured films, such as Rescuers Down Under, Beauty & The Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, Pocahontas, Mulan, Lilo & Stitch, and Brother Bear. In 2006, Christine and her husband Trey made Spartanburg their home and began traveling to paint the beautiful locations and to exhibit their fine art regionally.
Christine also loved taking annual trips with her sister Michele where she gathered inspiration for her work. Christine was a loving wife, devoted daughter, and a caring sister. She was an accomplished, beautiful person and artist whose kind spirit will always be remembered. Christine’s smile was contagious and no matter where she was, she lit up the room with poise and grace. Christine will forever be missed but never forgotten.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister, Michele Hastings; mother-in-law, Marjorie C. Cannon; father-in-law, Claude S. Finney, Jr. and his wife Beth; Sister-in-law, Kathryn Finney White (David); brother in-law, Justin T. Finney; a niece, Marjorie White; nephew, Grier White; and her Beagle dog, Bailey.
Christine was predeceased by her step father-in-law, Harold M. “Sonny” Cannon.
A celebration of her life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at The Episcopal Church of the Advent.
