Paul Gunter Royals

Pauline, SC – Paul Gunter Royals, 83, husband of Christine McIntosh Royals, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016. Born November 24, 1932 in Summerland, Mississippi, Paul was a son of the late James Oscar and Denie Gunter Royals. He honorably served his country in the US Army during the Korean War during the years 1951-1954. Paul was retired from J. Frank Blakely Electrical Contractors. He loved his family, pets, and working in and beautifying his yard. Paul loved singing and especially gospel music. He was a long time member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. In addition to his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Paul is survived by his children, Cathy R. Maxwell (Ricky), Richard Royals (Karen), Janet R. Skinner (Ray), and Christy R. Rector (Keith); grandchildren, Allison Maxwell Watson (Scott), Marsha Maxwell Turner (Jason), Amy Royals Riley (McKenzie), Jessica Royals Roberts (Matthew), Tara Huff Green (Adam), Abbey Huff Shaak (Haydn), Autum Chynoweth, Bailey Chynoweth, Keaton P. Rector and Kason M. Rector; twelve great grandchildren; brother, Charles E. Royals (Helen); sister, Shirley R. Gage; several nieces and nephews; and a special family member, Tonya Smith. Paul was predeceased by a granddaughter, Meredith Huff Brower; a brother, James A. Royals; and sister, Ilda R. Jernigan. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 12th, 11:00-12:00noon at Philadelphia Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow in the sanctuary, officiated by Reverend Dr. Greg Butler. The family will be at the home. A special thank you to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills and Park Place Assisted Living for the care they provided for Mr. Royals.
