R. C. "Buck" Bright

Spartanburg, SC- R.C. Bright, 77, husband of Millie “Pat” Parham Bright, died Tuesday, February 16, 2016. Born August 9, 1938 in Wilmington, DE, Buck was the son of the late Rupert Bright, II and Eleanor Hardiker Bright. He honorably served his country in the US Army. Buck was employed with Clement Lumber for over 50 years. He loved fishing and his dog, Max. Buck was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Pat, of 54 years, Buck is survived by his sons, Sammy Bright (Lynda) of Campobello, SC and Sidney Bright of Spartanburg, SC; a daughter, Melinda Swad (David) of Moore, SC; six grandchildren, Ashley, Brittany, Keri, Justin, Holly, and Katie; and seven great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 21st, 3:00PM at Emmanuel Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Frankie Taylor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3000 Stone Station Road, Roebuck, SC 29376.
