Sara Biggers Mullins

Spartanburg – Sara Biggers Mullins, 85, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016. Sara was born in Greenville, SC on February 9, 1931 to the late Whitney Freeman and Silda Ballenger Biggers. She attended Winthrop College and after completing her Nursing Degree, faithfully served as a Registered Nurse from 1954 – 1996 at Spartanburg General Hospital, Doctor’s Memorial, and retiring from Mary Black Hospital. Sara was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spartanburg. She is survived by her son, Rick Mullins of Inman; her daughter, Lisa M. McLendon of Charlotte, NC; a grandson, Michael McLendon and his wife Claire of Charlotte, NC; two nephews, David and Craig Biggers. She was predeceased by her brother, Harold Biggers and a son-in-law, Gray McLendon. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 22, 2016 at the Dunbar Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
