Homer Raymond Bichard

Spartanburg, SC- Homer Raymond Bichard, 76, husband of Peggy Morgan Bichard, died Saturday, February 27, 2016. Born September 20, 1939 in Cambridge, OH, Homer was a son of the late Harry and Lula Milligan Bichard. He honorably served his country in the US Navy and retired after 22 years. Homer was a customer engineer for Telex, Memorex Telex, Decision One, and Computer Plus for many years. He was a member of the Westview Ruritan Club and St. James United Methodist Church where he taught the Cannon Sunday School class. In addition to his wife, Homer is survived by his son, Raymond Bichard (Monica) of Yokosuka, Japan; a daughter, Angela Benjock (Chris) of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Megan Bichard, Paul Benjock, Nathan Bichard, Hannah Benjock, and Emily Bichard; sister in-law, Wanda Sue Burton of Kingsland, GA; and many nieces and nephews. Homer was loved by many and he loved them in return. The list of children and grandchildren would expand greatly if a list of extended family and friends were included. They know who they are. He was predeceased by his brothers, Ralph Bichard (Doris), Ward Bichard (Susie), and Donald Bichard (Juanita); and his sister, Mildred Reed (Roy). The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 2nd, 6-8PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 3rd, 2PM at St. James United Methodist Church, officiated by Reverend J. Wayne Smith, Jr. Burial with military honors will follow in Westwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James United Methodist Church, 213 N. Lanford Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
