Spartanburg, SC – Frances Mircovich Grein, 76, wife of the late Leo Joseph Grein, died Friday, March 18, 2016.
Born March 4, 1940, in Corpus Christi, TX, Frances was the daughter of the late Arnold and Dorothy Laughlin Mircovich. She attended Bishop High School in Bishop, TX, and was a graduate of Texas A&I University, obtaining her degree in Education and Home Economics. Frances was a kindergarten teacher at Holy Cross Elementary School in Bay City, TX. After relocating to Spartanburg, SC, she was a tutor and teaching assistant at St. Paul the Apostle School, a volunteer for Mobile Meals, and a board member of Ballet Spartanburg. Frances was a devoted and active member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
Frances is survived by two sisters, Delores Korenek (Arnold Korenek) of Houston, TX, and Cecilia Baker (Ray Baker) of Georgetown, TX; four children, Stephen Grein (Gail Grein)of Dallas, TX, Anne Claire Nutt (Bryan Nutt) of Spartanburg, SC, Matthew Grein of Boston, MA, and Mark Grein of Prague, Czech Republic; and five grandchildren, Ryan Michael Trotter and Mason Lee Trotter of Spartanburg, SC, and Laurel Elyse Grein, Vaughn Joseph Grein, and Caroline Marie Grein of Dallas, TX.
A prayer service will be held Tuesday, March 22nd, 5:30PM at Dunbar Funeral Home and conducted by Deacon Bob Mahaffey. A visitation will follow 6-7PM.
A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, March 23rd, 10AM at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in the Historic Church, 161 N. Dean Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302 and officiated by Reverend David R. Whitman.
