Larry James Gibson

Winston Salem, NC- Larry James Gibson, 82, husband of the late Alyce Lucille Gibson, died Tuesday, April 5, 2016. Born September 11, 1933 in Cherryville, NC, Larry was 2nd out of the 12 children of Riley and Texie Turner Gibson. He honorably served his country in the US Air Force and retired after 20 years of service. Larry was an avid outdoorsman. He is survived by his sons, Riley Gibson (Melissa) of Winston Salem, NC and Glen Gibson (Summer) of Waynesville, NC; son in-law, Chris Vise of Roebuck, SC; granddaughters, April Gibson and Jessica Vise; grandsons, Wyatt and Cabe Gibson; great granddaughter, Alyssa Gibson; five brothers; and three sisters. In addition to his wife, Larry was predeceased by a daughter, Lea Vise. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 9th, 12-1PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the Chapel at 1PM. Burial with military honors will be held in Heritage Memorial Gardens.
