Dorothy King Obituary Dorothy Rose King, 93, was born June 15, 1922 in Atlanta, Georgia, and grew up in neighboring Decatur, Georgia. Dorothy was one of four children. She lost her brother in action in France during World War II. Her parents owned and operated a printing plant founded in 1937. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 1947 with a degree in journalism, where she was president of her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi. She served as an interviewer for Delta Airlines, Secretary to Dr. Charles Stanley FBC Atlanta, and Secretary to Miss Bertha Smith, retired missionary to China. She was a dedicated student of the Bible, and graduated from the Evangelical Institute of Greenville in 1981. She was devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ and led Bible Studies in groups, and on an individual basis, right up to the end of her life. Dorothy is survived by her three children: Dianne King Gossett (Holman), Dorothy Ann King, and John King. Her grandchildren: Hope Green (Rick), Cleveland Gossett, Molly Grace Morales (David), Matthew Gossett, and Sarah Temple Gossett. Great grandchildren: Lilly Anna, Kindall, and Hack Green. She was predeceased by her husbands, Cornelius Wise (killed in a naval training flight in 1948), and John O. King. Also, her granddaughter Joy Gossett. A memorial service will be held at Providence Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg on Sunday, April 10th, at 2:00.
