Robert M. "Worm" Sloan

Robert M. “Worm” Sloan Moore - Robert “Worm” Michael Sloan, 57, of Moore, South Carolina passed away on Tuesday May 3rd 2016 in his home. Worm was born on December 15, 1958 in Keene, New Hampshire and moved to South Carolina as a young boy. He graduated from Dorman High School and worked as a machinist at Cryovac Sealed Air for 38 years. In his adult life, he was a self-proclaimed southern boy who enjoyed the country. He enjoyed classic cars, racing, and spoiling his granddaughter. He was a supportive and loving father, from coaching sports to fixing cars and supporting career moves. Worm is survived by his sons, Michael Sloan (Jessica), Garrett Nichols; daughters, Michelle Sloan, Asten Leonard (Brandon), Kaitlyn Sloan; companion, Judy Collins; a brother, David Sloan; nephews, Stephen, Andrew, and Eric Sloan. He was blessed with a granddaughter, Natalie Sloan. Worm was predeceased by his parents, Richard “Dick” and Elizabeth “Betty” Sloan; nephew, William “Billy” Sloan; and sister-in-law, Valerie Sloan. The family will receive friends from 2:00PM to 3:00PM on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Dunbar Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow in the Dunbar Funeral Home Chapel. A private family committal will be in the Heritage Memorial Gardens.
