Russell Britton Elder

Russell Britton Elder III Spartanburg – Russell B. Elder, III, 57, died Tuesday, May 24, 2016. Britt was born on January 8, 1959 to Russell B. Elder, Jr. and the late Estha Washam Elder. He was a graduate of Myers Park High School, Charlotte, NC, earned a BA in Psychology from USCS. Britt was previously employed with the Spartanburg County Library System for many years. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend who was very generous with his time and helped everyone who was in need. Britt loved the outdoors and spending time on his farm in the country with his dogs. Britt is survived by two brothers, John Elder (Amanda) of Houston, TX, Stan Elder (Beth) of Raleigh, NC; nephews, David, Brian, and Jonathan Elder. A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, officiated by Reverend Dale Rawlings. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Interment will be in the Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Cornelius, NC. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the Westminster Church Family.
