Robert Eugene Armstrong

Spartanburg, SC- Robert Eugene Armstrong, 89, husband of Leola Delores Leppla Armstrong, died Tuesday, August 23, 2016. Born November 29, 1926 in Celina, OH, Robert was a son of the late Russell and Evelyn Armstrong and the late Magdeline Gilbert. In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his daughters, Nancy Barton and her husband, Perry, of Spartanburg and Candy Smith and her husband, Dwight, of Greenville; grandchildren, David Stevens, Blake Barton and his wife, Rebecca, Ashley Hunt and her husband, Ryan, and Courtney Batson and her husband, Brandon; six great grandchildren, Tyler and Felicitie Stevens, Cotton Barton, Coleman and Bennett Batson, and Harper Hunt; a brother, Ronald Armstrong; and two sisters, Wilma Nagel and Kathy Williams. A graveside service with military honors will be held Saturday, August 27th, 10:00AM in Heritage Memorial Gardens, officiated by Reverend Brian Gilmer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gibbs Cancer Center, 101 E Wood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
