Roebuck, SC- Steven Paul Caulk, 62, husband of Laverne “Lou” Gwinn Caulk, died on Tuesday, October 4, 2016. Born February 27, 1954 in Bennettsville, SC, Steve was the son of the late Percy Edmond and Carol Graham Caulk. On a beautiful, sunny morning, Steve jogged into Heaven and was reunited with his parents and brother and met his Savior Jesus Christ. After 38 years of dedicated work at Invista, Steve retired in 2009. He spent most of his days taking care of others-be it his loving wife and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. M.D. Putnam, or a number of friends, family, and fellow church members. Steve was a very talented musician and for several years sang with the “United Joy Singers” as well as at his home church, touching many by his beautiful voice and love for God. Steve also always knew how to have fun and was often out singing karaoke or dancing at Music on Main. He volunteered many hours to support local charities; notably Big Brothers Big Sisters, The March of Dimes, and The Blood Connection. Steve also devoted many hours to Solid Rock Church and loved his church family. Steve will be remembered for always having a joke to share and a hand to help any and everyone he could. Though so many mourn the loss of such a caring, genuine, and Godly man, those remaining can keep his legacy alive by loving God and family, singing, and cheering on his favorite team-the Clemson Tigers. In addition to his beloved wife, Steve is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Caulk Gryle and her husband Matthew of Spartanburg, and Allison Jean Caulk of Spartanburg and a sister, Phyllis Caulk Fann and her husband Carl Fann of Greenville. Steve is also survived by many beloved cousins, in-laws, nieces, and nephews and one very special great nephew Noah, who brought him so much love and joy these last three years. He was predeceased by a brother, Percy Edmond Caulk, Jr. The family will receive friends Friday, October 7th, from 6-8PM at Dunbar Funeral Home in Roebuck, S.C. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 8th, at 2 PM at Solid Rock Church, 1326 Union Street, Spartanburg, S.C., and officiated by Pastor Randy Lewis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Solid Rock Church, 1326 Union St., Spartanburg, SC 29302 or Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Upstate, 620 N. Main St., Suite 102, Greenville, SC 29601.
