Elizabeth "Lib" Nix Sumner

Roebuck, SC- Elizabeth Nix Sumner, 88, wife of the late R. J. Sumner, Sr., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at The Gardens at Windsor House. Born April 30, 1928 in Campobello, SC, Elizabeth, also affectionately known as Tootsie, was the daughter of the late Ellard J. and Charlotte Metcalf Nix. She was a member of Roebuck Presbyterian Church. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, K. Regina Sumner; two of 21 cousins, Jean Casey Britton and Steve Metcalf and their families; nieces, Barbara Nix Wofford and Kay Nix Hall and their families; and nephews, Michael Sumner, Gary West, Roger West and their families, and Bryan West. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Joe Sumner, Jr.; daughter in-law, Phyllis Sumner; a grandson, Jason M. Sumner; two brothers, Jim and Burt Nix; and several cousins. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 19th, 2:30-3:15PM at Roebuck Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will follow in the sanctuary at 3:30PM, officiated by Reverend Dr. Richard Winston and Reverend Lee Moseley. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.
