John G. Cornetta, Jr. Lyman, SC- John G. Cornetta, Jr., 78, formerly of Long Valley, New Jersey, passed away in his home on Monday, November 7, 2016. John grew up in Plainfield, New Jersey where he was in the Boy Scouts of America and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. John was a member of the United States Army, serving in the 1960’s; his service to his country was among the things of which John was most proud. John had a long and successful career in book publishing, from which he retired at age 62. He was one of Greenville in Harmony Chorus “Groupies” and attended many of their competitions in Winston Salem, NC. John was an avid golfer and loved spending time with family at his second home in Cape Cod. John was preceded in death by his first wife, Judith, who passed away in 2005. He is survived by his wife, Janet; his four children from his first marriage, Beth Oros, Eileen Rall (Glenn), Kerry Pappalardo (John), and John Daniel Cornetta (Jacqueline); 12 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, November, 15, 2016 at Jesus, Our Risen Savior Catholic Church.
