Carolyn "Carol" Cothran Smith

Roebuck, SC- Carolyn Cothran Smith, 73, wife of Paul Smith, died Thursday, November 24, 2016 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born May 4, 1943 in Newberry, SC, Carol was a daughter of the late Albert Lee and Jeanette Cleary Cothran. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Rodney Edward Smith; daughter, Leah Vaughn; stepsons, Steve and Mike Smith; a nephew, Douglas Cothran, Jr.; a grandson, Rodney Edward Smith, Jr.; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two brothers, Dennis and Mitchell Cothran. She was predeceased by a son, Tommy L. Phillips, Jr.; brothers, Albert Cothran, Jr., Clarence, Charles, Douglas, and J. C. Cothran; and sisters, Angelina Leviner, Lillian Wahley, and JoAnn Price. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 26th, 6-8PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 29th, 2PM at Dunbar Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Bruce Guy. Burial will follow in Heritage Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the home of Bo Phillips, 861 Morris Bridge Road.
