Samuel Wayne Edwards

Spartanburg, SC- Samuel Wayne Edwards, 73, husband of Barbara Burrell Edwards, died Friday, December 23, 2016. Born April 25, 1943 in Spartanburg, SC, Mr. Edwards was a son of the late C. B. and Irene Mayton Edwards. He was a Vietnam Veteran who honorably served his country in the US Marine Corps and the US Army before his retirement. In addition to his wife, Mr. Edwards is survived by his son, Michael Edwards (Melanie); grandchildren, Lynne Fowler (Eugene), Tasha Wenger (David), Madeline Edwards, and Macen Edwards; and a brother, Patrick R. Edwards. He was predeceased by his son, Scott Wayne Edwards. Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 29th, 3 PM in the MJ Dolly Cooper Veteran’s Cemetery in Anderson, SC, officiated by Reverend Dr. Tim Wofford. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Hill Baptist Church, 100 Calvary Hill Church Drive, Lyman, SC 29365.
