Spartanburg, SC - Grace D. Arthur died Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at White Oak Estates Nursing Center after a brief illness. Born September 10, 1919 in Spartanburg, SC, Grace was the daughter of the late Ollie and Essie Duncan and the widow of Lee D. Arthur. She was a member for more than 50 years of Bethany Baptist Church, and she remained active as long as her health allowed. Grace retired in 1984 from Abbott Laboratories. Grace is survived by her son, Tom Arthur and his wife Ceci and a daughter Jane Dickson and her husband Paul all of Spartanburg, SC. She is also survived by her grandson Rob Arthur (Mary Catherine) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, granddaughters Dr. Katie Shockley (Josh) of Anderson, SC, Beverli Kusztos (Greg) of Inman, SC and Paula Martin (Craig) of Boiling Springs, SC. Grace also has seven great grandchildren: Thomas and Henry Arthur, Alex, Erica and Zack Kusztos and Nathan and Matthew Martin. She is also survived by a sister, Kathryn Crossland of Gilbert, SC and two sisters in law, Mary Nell Chapman and Vera Arthur both of Spartanburg, SC. The family would like to express their special appreciation to all the employees of Eden Terrace of Spartanburg for the care Grace received for more than 10 years and their deep gratitude for the compassionate care and love she received these past years until her passing from all the employees of White Oak Estates Nursing Center. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017, 2:30PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 309 Fernwood Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307, officiated by the Reverend Dale Rawlings. A reception will follow the service at the Church.
