Spartanburg, SC- Bobby Dean Bridges, 81, husband of the late June Puckett Bridges, died Saturday, February 04, 2017. Born January 12, 1936 in Clifton, SC, Bobby was a son of the late Broadus Graham and Ruby Cash Bridges. He was a restaurateur of many establishments in the Greenville/Spartanburg area and a proficient musician until the very end. Bobby was a founding member of the Palisades, playing drums for many national acts, and continuing to play with his music family in the Buffalo and Jonesville area. He was a loving father, who’s love extended far beyond his own family, to his church, friends, and fellow musicians. Bobby was a member of Beaumont Baptist Church. His clever sense of humor and his generous spirit will be sorely missed. Bobby is survived by his sons, Graham Bridges and Gregg Bridges (Robin); his daughter, Kelly Stewart (Matt); four grandchildren, Landon and Ethan Bridges, Brittany Logan Biggs (Sean), and Matthew Stewart; and his beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to his first wife, he was predeceased by second wife, Dot Dill Bridges; and four siblings, R. B, Harold, Carolyn, and Pam. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 7th, 1PM at Dunbar Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Steven McLain and Reverend Rupert Guest. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be held in Heritage Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beaumont Baptist Church, 945 Beaumont Ave, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
