Ronald "Ronnie" Ventson Bennett

Arcadia, SC- Ronald Ventson Bennett, 73, husband of Gail Smith Bennett, died Wednesday, February 15, 2017. Born April 28, 1943 in Spartanburg, SC, Ronnie was a son of the late Benjamin Bennett and Hazel Arrington Mallory. He honorably served his country in the US Marine Corp and was a member of Westgate Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Ronnie is survived by his son, Richard V. Bennett (Nancy) of Spartanburg, SC; a daughter, Michelle Pender (Gene) of Leesburg, GA; two grandchildren, Ashley Pender and Christopher Pender; one great grandchild, Torren; and three sisters, Janie Leroy (David) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jerrie Nix (Robert) of Charleston, SC, and Becky Bragg (William) of Spartanburg, SC.  Extended family, Belinda Prince (Andrew) of Spartanburg, Jon Freeman (Carol Jean) of Inman, Casey Burns (Eric) of Pelzer and 8 grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a grandson, Nicholas Pender; and two brothers, Sonny Bennett and Mickey Mallory; and step-mother, Emma Bennett.  The family will receive friends Friday, February 17th, 12:30 to 1:45PM, at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow in the Chapel at 2PM, officiated by Reverend Dr. Kevin Smith. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westgate Free Will Baptist Church, 820 West Blackstock Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
