Margaret Susan Gass Wheeler

Pauline, SC- Margaret Susan Gass Wheeler, 89, wife of the late Parran James Wheeler, Jr., died Friday, February 17, 2017, peacefully at her home. Born August 10, 1927 in Abell, Maryland, she was one of the thirteen children of the late John and Lola Lee Hayden Gass. Margaret and her husband volunteered for Mobile Meals for over 20 years and were loyal attenders at the Woodruff Leisure Center Senior Club. She was a member of Jesus Our Risen Savior Catholic Church until her health prohibited her from attending Mass. Since then, Margaret has been an avid listener of The Encouraging Word. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Wheeler Hines (Jim); her sons, Ray, James, and Bobby Wheeler; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and two sisters, Ernestine Keaton and Catherine Corbin. In addition to her husband, Margaret was predeceased by three sons, Kevin, Michael, and Charles Wheeler; and ten brothers and sisters. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 22nd, 2-3PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the Chapel at 3PM, officiated by Reverend Dr. Jim Jackson.
