Larry Eugene Dent

Spartanburg, SC- Larry Eugene Dent, 75, husband of Florence Elizabeth Dent, died Friday, February 17, 2017. Born October 20, 1941 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of late Henry Eugene Dent and Lottie Wanida Dent. A graduate of Wofford College, Larry was a talented musician and photographer. As a Major in the US Army, he proudly served his country as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. After leaving the Army, he became an air traffic controller for the FAA from which he later retired. Larry was a Mason, a member of Anderson Mill Baptist Church, a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Florence; a son, Michael Dent (Lori) of Powdersville, SC; and three grandchildren, Marissa, Ethan and Andrew. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
