Patricia Jean "PJ" Balose

Spartanburg, SC- Patricia Jean Balose, 73, was called home by the Lord on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. Born in Kingsville, Ontario, Canada, PJ was a daughter of the late Andrew and Ruby Kallay, and stepdaughter of the late Austin Batley. She retired from Adidas Group in Spartanburg, SC. PJ enjoyed her card club, creative cooking, taking vacation cruises, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, and will be dearly missed by all who loved her. PJ is survived by her husband, Daniel; three children, Karen Garber and her husband, Scott, Sandra Cariano and her husband, John, both of Moore, SC, and Daniel Balose, Jr. and his wife, Kecia, of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Samantha Garcia, Nickolas Balose, both of Charlotte, NC, and Chris Garber of Moore, SC; her sisters, Donna Brackenberry and her husband, Dan, of Calgary, Canada and Nancy Critchlow of Ontario, Canada; brother in-law, Charles Balose and his wife, Barbara, of Cape Coral, FL; nieces, Michelle Jaworiwsky and her husband, Stefan, Sue Mantha, Laurie and Sherri Brackenbury, all of Ontario, Canada, Kim Baitenger of Algonac, MI, and Amanda Critchlow Lutz of Ridgeway, PA; nephews, Sean, Ben, and Kael Critchlow, all of Ontario, Canada; great nieces, Alex Jaworiwsky, Madison Mantha, Kayla Van Hamm and Samantha Brackenbury, all of Ontario, Canada, Sasha and Kalin Baitenger, both of Algonac, MI; a great nephew, Noah Jaworiwsky of Ontario, Canada; her BFF, Mary Jo Tobias and her husband, John; and her beloved cocker spaniel, Abby. She was predeceased by a very special sister, Carole Gagnon; and brother, Bobby Kallay, both of Ontario, Canada. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 25th, 1:00-2:30PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow in the Chapel at 2:30PM, officiated by Father Rob Brown. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local humane society.
