Andrew Stephen Sulewski

November 5, 1941 — September 26, 2024

Spartanburg

Andrew Stephen Sulewski, 82, peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 26th at Spartanburg Regional Hospice House.

Born on November 5, 1941 in Erie, PA, he was the son of the late Stefan Joseph Sulewski and the late Julia Pleszewski Sulewski. After serving in the United States Navy, Andy worked in various manufacturing industries starting in engineering to management to eventually owning his own business, Technical Fabricators, Inc., with the late Allen Livingston.

Andy was an energetic and fun-loving man who rarely met a stranger. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and was in the fourth degree of that organization for 28 years. He served on the Board and as Grand Knight for two terms. He excelled at fundraising for the Knights and cooking in the Parish kitchen for all Church breakfasts, suppers and special events. He was never bashful about sharing his opinion on the many committees in which he served.

Andy’s family and friends took precedence in his life. He was quick to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved to fix and repair anything around his house and anyone else’s house who asked.

Andy’s greatest passion was his three grandchildren. He was always present for awards day at schools, dance recitals and travel baseball tournaments. He loved to teach them how to fish, swim, and cook family traditional meals around the holidays.

The family wishes to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Spartanburg Regional Hospice House for their attentiveness and care in his last days.

Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Rita Sulewski; his daughter, Kimberly Anderson (Will); and three grandchildren: Manning, Conner, and Gray Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Andrew Sulewski.

The funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Father David Whitman and Deacon Bob Mahaffey will officiate. Following the service, the family will greet friends in the lobby of the Church.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and the Spartanburg Regional Hospice House.
