Annie (Ann) Lee Barnes, age 90, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon at the Mary Black Campus of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. She was born in Columbus County, NC on April 12, 1933, the daughter of the late Robert Lee White and the late Carie Dare White Norris. She was preceded in death by her Husband David (Tommy) Barnes, brother Robert Charles White, son David T Barnes, Jr, stepfather CP Norris and Sophy Lam, caretaker for 10 years, who referred to Ann as Mom.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Patti) Barnes; daughter-in-law, Paula Gately Barnes; grandchildren, Lindsay (JT) Meyers, Christal Gordon, Jason Kuykendall, and Emily Gately; great-granddaughters Lyric Gordon and Ashley, Caroline, and Charlotte Meyers; and many relatives in North Carolina.
Ann was a was a long-time member of Southside Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC and loved her church family.
After 30 years of working in doctors’ offices as a medical assistant in both Whiteville, NC and Spartanburg, SC, Ann retired to focus her time and energy on loving her family and playing golf, where she created lots of wonderful memories. She deeply loved her family, friends, and life.

Visitation will be held 10:00-10:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024, in the Parlor of Southside Baptist Church, 316 S Church St, Spartanburg, SC 29306.
A memorial service will follow in the Church Sanctuary at 11:00 AM.
Interment will be at Lake Waccamaw Hillcrest Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, Youth Programs.
