Barbara Wood-Allen

Boiling Springs, SC- Barbara Wood-Allen, 71, went to be with her Savior in her heavenly home on Wednesday, December 29, 2021.

Born June 6, 1950 in Pickens, SC, she was a daughter of the late Narl Leon Burgess and Gellette Dickerson. Barbara was a teacher with Spartanburg School District 7 for many years before her retirement, serving those with special needs. Time spent teaching special needs children was the joy of her life. Barbara was a member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Dori Wood; her son, Scott Camp; a grandson, Seth Camp; two brothers, Michael Burgess and his wife, Charlotte, and Tim Burgess and his wife, April; and step mother, Sue Burgess.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, January 8^th, 1:00PM at New Beginnings United Methodist Church, 210 Rainbow Lake Road, Boiling Springs, SC, 29316.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sonshine Club, an organization to assist those with special needs and their caregivers, 5969 Highway 221, Roebuck, SC 29376.
