Baron Hallman Lancaster entered into the presence of Jesus at 6:35 AM, Saturday, October 14, 2023, after a brief illness. Baron was born in Spartanburg, SC, on December 25, 1932. He was predeceased by his parents Baron Hames Lancaster and Verda Hallman Lancaster, and his beloved wife and soul- mate, Syble Burns Lancaster. He was the proud father of daughter, Angie Lancaster Band (Norman), of Spartanburg SC: grandchildren, Carmen Band Sawyers (Jim) of Amelia Island, Florida, Kaylee Band Johnson (Ben), Syble Band Phillips (Blake), and Jayden Band, of Spartanburg, SC. Baron was further blessed with six great grandchildren; Noah and Carlee Sawyers, Devyn, Mady and Henry Johnson, and Gemma Phillips. For fifty-six years, Baron was owner of Kathleens Flowers. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and loved his country. As a graduate of The University of South Carolina, Baron was an avid Carolina Gamecock and served as a past president of the Gamecock Club of Spartanburg. For many years he was a season ticket holder and attended every home football game and traveled to more than a few away games. In addition to his love of Gamecock football and basketball, he was an avid reader. More than anything, he loved being with his family. In his retirement years, he was active in all family outings and vacations. He especially loved going with family to the beach or to his granddaughter's home in Amelia Island, Florida. A Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church Chapel, Spartanburg, on Tuesday, October 17 at 2:00 PM, conducted by his son-in-law, Rev. Norman Band, and Sunday School teacher, Mr. Chuck Wallington. The Memorial Service will be preceded by a visitation with family at 1:00 PM in the church parlor. The family is grateful for the tender care Baron received during his last few days at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice House.
