Spartanburg, SC- Bessie Ann Scruggs Humphries, 67, wife of Donald Gene Humphries, died Tuesday, May 9, 2017. Born May 5, 1950 in Spartanburg, SC, Bessie was a daughter of the late Claude and Beatrice Blanchard Scruggs. She was a member of Praise Cathedral. In addition to her husband of 44 years, Bessie is survived by her son, Avery Williamson of Spartanburg, SC; her daughter, Crystal Cook (Michael) of Inman, SC; grandchildren, Amber Sprouse (Zach), Caleb, Katelyn, and Ashlyn Cook; great grandchildren, Nicholas and Chandler Sprouse; and a sister, Hazel Lawter of Spartanburg, SC. A visitation will be held Friday, May 12th, 2-2:45PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3PM in the Chapel, officiated by Reverend Jerry Madden. Burial will be held in Heritage Memorial Gardens.
