Betty Jo "Betty Boop" Taylor Betty Jo Dunagin Taylor, 91, passed away Oct 6, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Betty was born in Atlanta February 17, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Raymond Festus Hardin and wife Ruth Butler Hardin. She moved to Madisonville Tennessee in the early 40's. She worked at Beech Aircraft factory as a "Rosie the riveter" in Wichita Kansas, during WWII. She also worked a number of years at Raycord Shirt factory. Mrs. Taylor married Alvin Dunagin Jr. and made her home in Spartanburg in 1946. She was the life of family gatherings, loved people, and feeding the squirrels and birds. Those left to cherish her memories are daughter in law Kutilda Dunagin, daughter Brenda Dunagin Bennett, and two sons Brian H. Dunagin and wife Debra of Spartanburg, Hal N. Dunagin of Greenville. In addition, surviving Sister Nancy Hardin Davis of Atlanta Georgia and Daughter in law Debra Dunagin was her best friend and caregiver for many years. Grandchildren Gary L. Dunagin, Niki S. Dunagin, Jill Hyatt Petty, B. Chad Dunagin and wife Andrea, Amie J. Chesney and husband Edgar, and Tommy J. Dunagin. Great grandchildren C. David Dunagin, Mckayla J. Dunagin, B. Luke Dunagin, Valerie Branch, Breanna Branch, Cassady Campbell, Joseph B. Dunagin, Daniel Dunagin, and Aaron Dunagin. She was predeceased in death by her oldest son Gary A. Dunagin, two husbands Alvin U. Dunagin jr, Donald Taylor, and thirteen siblings. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 4:00 PM on Monday October the 9th at J.M. Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 4:00PM at the funeral home officiated by Reverend Joe White. Burial will be in Heritage Memorial Gardens at 3901 S Church Street Ext Roebuck, South Carolina 29376 The family will be at their respective homes.
