Betty Danielsen Thompson

Betty Danielsen Thompson, 87, of Roebuck, SC, went to be with her Lord on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

She was born June 13, 1935 in Charleston, SC to the late Martin Theodor and Harriet Fulton Danielsen. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Frederic D. Thompson, Jr.

Betty retired from Spartanburg County School District 6 where she taught 1st grade. She was also a devoted pastor’s wife, accompanying Fred throughout his ministry to various area churches. Betty was a beloved choir director, piano player, and Sunday School teacher, and maintained cherished friendships from every church where she attended and served over the years. Betty was also a longtime member and former President of the Roebuck Garden Club.

She is survived by her daughter, Rachel McGady and her husband Chris, of Charleston, SC, and grandsons Matt and Josh McGady.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 21^st, 5:30PM at Dunbar Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends following the service.

There will be a private burial at 2nd Presbyterian Church cemetery in Charleston SC.
