Beverly Cohen Huntley

Beverly Cohen Huntley, 85, died following a long illness on Friday, August 25, 2023.

Born September 4, 1937, in Spartanburg, SC, Beverly was the daughter of the late C. Henry Cohen and Kathleen Carter Cohen. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Stephen Jennings Huntley. She is survived by her children, Grace Huntley Coleman and her husband, John Nelson Coleman, of Spartanburg, and Stephen Jennings Huntley, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer Duncan Huntley, of Aiken, SC; four grandchildren, Claire Jennings Coleman of Denver, CO, Jack Carter Coleman of Spartanburg, Beatrice Cohen Huntley and Alexander Jennings Fisher Huntley of Aiken; and her sister, Kathy Willard of Spartanburg.

Beverly grew up in Spartanburg and graduated from Spartanburg High School and Converse College with a bachelor’s in French and a minor in Spanish. She was a successful freelance paralegal in the Spartanburg legal community, a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Country Club of Spartanburg, and the Spartanburg Debutante Club.

Beverly was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her friends at bridge club and Friday "Lunch Bunch." She had a zest for life and loved sports. She enjoyed playing tennis, golf, and hiking.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 9, 2023, in the Chapel at First Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg.
