Billie Patin Frost, 89, a resident of Spartanburg, SC, died on Thursday, the 24th of August. She was born in 1928 to Clarence and Lucile Wassenich Patin in Port Arthur, TX. After graduating from Milby High School in Houston, TX, Billie began a career in government service and worked in Washington DC, Guam, Okinawa and Hawaii. In 1951 she returned to Houston and opened a small Hawaiian boutique. Billie met Raymond Brown and they were married in 1952. As a wife, mother, and homemaker, Billie was very active in volunteering, Junior League, and interior design. Upon her divorce in 1973, Billie relocated to Pensacola, FL and returned to government service. The opportunity arose in 1981 to transfer to Mannheim, Germany where she spent the next twelve years enjoying extensive travels around Europe. Billie married while in Germany and was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Frost. Ms. Frost retired from a very successful civil service career in 1993, and returned to the U.S. in style on the QE2. Seeking a small town atmosphere where she could write, read and garden she moved to Spartanburg, SC and remained until her death. She is survived by her three children Candace Dempsey (Chris) of Atlanta, Georgia, Robin LeRoy (Louis) of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Raymond Brown of Kuwait. She is also the loving "Oma" to four grandchildren, Lauren West (Joey), Stephen Dempsey (Simone), Amanda LeRoy Hogie and Connor LeRoy. Billie was very blessed to also know and spend time with her three great grandchildren. At her request, Billie will be cremated and her ashes spread at a later date. In lieu of a memorial service there will be a private family gathering. Memorials can be made to Regency Hospice / Regency SouthernCare of Greenville, who provided invaluable support during her life and passing.
