Bobbie Jean Nunn, born on September 29th, 1936, passed away peacefully on September 24th, 2024, just days shy of his 88th birthday. A proud and dedicated Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Nunn served his country with honor for 20 years. After his military service, he continued his hardworking career at Milliken, where he was employed from 1976 until his retirement in 1998.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, William Ralph Nunn and Lemma Mae Lynch, his cherished wife Carolyn Nunn, his daughter Mary Jean Nunn, his brother Freddy Nunn, his sister Judy Woody, and his nephew Tommy Woody.
Bobbie leaves behind a legacy of love and strength in his surviving family: two daughters, Brenda Scott (Richard) of Alabama and Diana Worrell of Virginia; his son, William Patrick Nunn (Selena) of Spartanburg, SC; his sister, Helen Gail Tavenner; and his nephews Jesse Woody (Amy) and Billy Woody (Neata). He was also blessed with nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward his spirit.
The family will be receiving friends and loved ones at the family home of his granddaughter, Tabatha St Germain (Bo).
Bobbie was the solid rock of his family, known for his golden heart and contagious sense of humor. He had a way of making those around him feel loved and at ease. Though his passing came too soon, the indelible mark he left on the hearts of those who knew him will remain forever.
Services will be held on Monday, October 7th, 2024, 3 PM, at the J.M. Dunbar Funeral Home, with a receiving of friends starting at 2 PM. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Norman Band.
Until we meet again, we love you always.
