Pauline, SC- Boyd Wilson Wingo, 90, husband of Ruby Bagwell Wingo, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 9, 2017. Born July 12, 1926 in Roebuck, SC, he was a son of the late Charlie V. and Altonia L. Wingo. Mr. Wingo graduated from Roebuck High School and attended Clemson University. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church for 77 years, where he was very active until his older years. Mr. Boyd served as Sunday school superintendent, a member of the men’s class, class secretary, and Deacon. He also served on many building committees. He was a Past Master of Roebuck Masonic Lodge #357 and a veteran of WWII, who loved his country, serving as Army Staff Sergeant in the Philippines and Korea. Mr. Boyd retired from Rockwell International before becoming President and Owner of Wingo Metal Products, Inc. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his sons, Dennis Wingo (Anne) of Pauline, SC and Randy Wingo (Susan) of Easley, SC; his daughter, Vickie Wingo of Pauline, SC; grandchildren, Courtney Phillips (Robbie) and Dr. Madison Lanford (Adam) of Easley, SC, and Benjamin Wingo (fiancé, Megan) of Simpsonville, SC; great grandchildren, Ruthie Grace Phillips and Amelia “Millie” Leigh Phillips; one brother, Thomas H. Wingo; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Helen W. Wilder, Shirley W. Bates, and Gloria W. Profitt; and brothers, Archie Wingo and Julian Wingo. Mr. Wingo was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He had many friends and always willing to help them at all times. The family will receive friends Friday, May 12th, 2-3PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow in the sanctuary at 3PM, officiated by Reverend Jim Oliver and Reverend Joe Burnett.
