Brenda Gayle Mintz Burrell

Brenda Gayle Mintz Burrell, beloved wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and friend to many, passed away Friday, July 5th, 2024, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Brenda was born May 20th, 1946, in Spartanburg to Frank Montague and Ruby Quinton Mintz. Brenda is predeceased by Paul Howard Burrell, husband of 42 years. Together they parented three beautiful daughters; Tammy Michelle (Scott Dover), Debbie Rene (predeceased by Micheal Messel), and Paula Annette Harril. Brenda is, as well, survived by grandsons; John Aaron Correll-Greer (Taylor Correll-Greer), Adam Nicolas Messel (Kellyn Brewer) and Tyler Andrew-Messel Irvin (Ryan Daniel Irvin). 

Brenda was known by friends and family for her love for the holiday season and Elvis Presley, her snarky remarks, and her unique interior design skills. However, she will be most missed by family members for her contagious laugh, her sense of humor, the sarcastic voicemails she left, and her compassion for those that she most adored. 

Join family members for Brenda’s Celebration of Life Service on the evening of Thursday, July 11th between 6 and 8pm at The JM Dunbar Funeral Home.
