Brittney Nicole Starnes, 25, mother of Bodhi Christopher, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 19, 2018. Born September 3, 1992 in Spartanburg, SC, Brittney was a daughter of Mike and Annette Medlin Starnes. She was a graduate of Dorman High School, class of 2010, where she was a cheerleader and played soccer. Brittney was a stay at home mom, currently attending Phoenix University. She was a member of First Baptist Church Spartanburg. Brittney will always be remembered for her generous heart and her infectious smile. In addition to her beloved son and parents, Brittney is survived by her brother, Tyler Starnes; her sister, Malorie Starnes; aunts, Mary DeVito (Chris), Paula West (Bobby), Jane Moore, and Cynthia McMahon (Dennis); and uncles, Patrick Starnes (Jelly) and Everett Medlin (Debbie). She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Robert L. and Nell Harper Starnes. The family will receive friends Friday, January 26th, 2:30-3:45PM at First Baptist Church Spartanburg. A celebration of her life will follow at 4:00PM, officiated by Reverend Dr. Don Wilton, Reverend Sal Barone, and Reverend Seth Buckley. Pallbearers will include Ken Starnes, Christian Starnes, Mitchell Starnes, Douglas Adams, Dale Starnes, and Brandon Starnes. A private burial will be held in Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs. In remembrance of Brittney, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Spartanburg, Youth Ministry, 250 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. The family will be at the home.
