Carol Ann Hughey Rosenberg, daughter of Dr. Doris Hughey and the late Carl Hughey, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her beloved daughter and devoted husband. After a long and difficult battle with chronic illness, she is now at rest, free from pain, and reunited with her Daddy.
A graduate of Dorman High School and Cecil’s Business College, Carol Ann had a successful career in the sales staffing industry. She was a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church and a vibrant, creative soul with a deep appreciation for beauty in all its forms. Whether through her art or her flair for fashion, Carol Ann had an eye for elegance, and her creativity knew no bounds.
She was a lover of the finer things—beautiful clothing and gourmet foods—but above all, Carol Ann loved her family and friends. She was especially proud of her daughter, Amy, and spoke of her with endless love and admiration. Carol Ann delighted in her three grandchildren and cherished her friendships, both old and new. Her backyard, a testament to her green thumb, was always filled with vibrant blooms, and her flower arrangements and painted furniture were admired by many.
Carol Ann was an extraordinary woman who brought beauty, love, and grace to the world around her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew her, especially her family and close friends.
A memorial service celebrating Carol Ann’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, at the J.M. Dunbar Funeral Home in Roebuck, South Carolina. Friends and family are invited to gather at 1:00 p.m. to share memories and honor her legacy.
She is survived by her mother, Doris Hughey; her loving husband, Stephen H. Rosenberg; her daughter, Amy Hoover Dickey (Jason); and three grandchildren, Elizabeth Blake, Carson Rhoades, and Jameson Cooper. She also leaves behind her beloved sisters, Cathy Ballard (Dan), Beck Grant (John), and Trish Parker (Dennis), as well as countless friends and family members who will deeply miss her warm smile and creative spirit.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Southside Baptist Church, 316 S. Church St. Spartanburg, SC 29306. Contributions in the form of plants or trees honoring Carol Ann's love for gardening and the beauty of the natural world are also appreciated.
