Carol Earl Scoggins

Carol E. Scoggins Spartanburg, SC- Carole E. Scoggins, 86, of Spartanburg, SC., died on September 24th, 2023. He was born in Marion County, SC, and was the son of the late Frances and Bates Scoggins Sr. He was a 1956 graduate of Spartanburg High School, and a 1960 graduate of Wofford College. Mr. Scoggins served his career in the Finance and Banking Industry for 37 years and was retired from Wachovia Bank. He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church where he served on several committees. Survivors include his Daughter, Lynn Scoggins Gilliland of Spartanburg, SC; Daughter-in-law, Kelly Scoggins of Irmo, SC; Grandchildren Daniel and Cole Scoggins of Irmo,SC; Matthew Gilliland(Sarah), and great grandsons; Drew and Ben Gilliland of Gaffney, SC; and a brother, Bates Scoggins Jr.(Pat) of Jonesville, SC. He was predeceased by his wife Peggy R. Scoggins, his son, Michael David Scoggins, and a sister, Nancy Floyd. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, September 29th, 2023, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by the Reverend Chris Allen, visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Midlands Special Needs Foundation, P.O. Box 2641, Lexington, SC 29071, in honor of Cole Scoggins, and in memory of David Scoggins. The family is at the home.
