Catherine McAbee Zimmerman

Catherine McAbee Zimmerman Spartanburg – Catherine McAbee Zimmerman, 91, went to her heavenly home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 14, 2021. She was born on March 29, 1930, to the late Bennie and Louise Bagwell McAbee. Catherine is survived by two sons, Benny Zimmerman (Robin), David Zimmerman (Cindy); daughter in law, Donna Zimmerman; brother, Donald McAbee (Joan); sister, Becky Blick; and several nieces and nephews who fondly referred to her as Khaki. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. Catherine was predeceased by a son, Tommy Zimmerman; daughter Sandi Casey; brother, William McAbee; and a sister, Mary McAbee. The family would like to thank the staff of Dillon Pointe for their kind and outstanding care. The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at Dunbar Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow immediately, officiated by Reverend Manning Strickland. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice House. The family is at the home of Benny Zimmerman.
