Charles T. Boyter of 914 Hwy 417, Moore, SC died on September 15, 2021 at the age of 89. He was the son of the late William Lawrence and Vister Kent Boyter. He is survived by his wife, Julia Elizabeth “Betty” Genoble Boyter; his daughter, Lynne Chastain and her husband, Steve; grandsons, Drew Chastain and Kent Chastain (Natalie); great grandsons, Tate, Will, and Avery; great granddaughters, Katherine and Jovie, all of Moore, SC; and his brother, John Boyter (Belva). He was predeceased by his sister, Lula B. Pace. A native of Spartanburg County, Charles graduated from Duncan High School, class of 1950, and attended Cecil’s Business College. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for Community Cash stores for 45 years. Charles was the owner of Poplar Springs Angus Farm and was a member of the Spartanburg County Livestock Producers and the South Carolina Livestock Producers. He was recently honored by the American Angus Association for 50 years of production. Charles enjoyed researching the Black Angus breed and sharing his knowledge with others. Charles was a lifelong member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, faithfully serving as a Deacon, committee member, and Sunday School teacher. A special thanks are due to the aides of Home Instead Senior Care who took care of him for the last few years. Due to current Covid outbreaks, a private graveside service will be held in the coming days, conducted by Reverend Joey Burnett and Reverend Steve Genoble.
