Roebuck, SC- Charles Raymond “Ray” Davis, 70, husband of Mary Boulton Davis, died Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at his home. Born October 19, 1948 in Forest City, NC, Ray was a son of the late Charles G. and Carolyn Nanney Davis. He attended the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Ray honorably served his country for 22 years on active duty in the US Air Force, retiring as a Senior Master Sargent and retired as plant manager from Bostik, Inc. He was of the Baptist faith, saved and baptized at Forest City Baptist Church in North Carolina. In addition to his wife, Ray is survived by his sons, Brett Davis of Spartanburg, SC and Brian Davis of Newport News, VA; his daughter, Kim Davis of Alexandria, VA; step son, T. J. Shavers; step daughter, Laurie Smith of Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Chase, Jackson, and Conner Davis, Madison, Cooper, and Bradley Smith, Colin and Cameryn Jones, Ben, Madeline, and Taylor Ann Shavers; three great grandchildren, Cora, Lilly, and Evelyn Davis; a brother, Keith Davis of Rock Hill, SC; and a sister, Jo Pittman of Rock Hill, SC. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Curtis and Carrie Coffey Nanney; paternal grandparents, William and Arie Williams Davis; and a brother, Steve Davis of Mt. Holly, NC The family will receive friends Monday, December 17th, 6-8PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Graveside services with full Military Honors will be held in the MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson, SC, Tuesday, December 18th, 3:00PM, officiated by Reverend Jonathan Sherbert. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Association of Frontotemporal Degeneration, www.theaftd.org.
